BD Manager/Golf Industry Consultant

Job Overview

To support the Robotics business growth strategy implementation in Europe, United States, Australia & New Zealand, Southeast Asia, we are looking for Business Development (BD) Manager/Golf Industry Consultant. This role will be the key contact person between sales & marketing personnel of headquarters and local region.


The key objectives of this role will be accountable for product research, supporting the regional sales head to make channel & market development, benchmark customer development and market analysis. The position will have the opportunity to have good understanding of Autonomous Golf Ball Picking Robot and Advanced Autonomous Reel Mower, to engage with customers in the golf industry to identify the customer's problem and propose the right solution for the customer, to work closely with the international sales teams, which will ensure a close internal alignment about company's business growth strategy in the local market. This role can be based anywhere in the following options (Florida USA, France, Czech, United Kingdom, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore), ideally near major golf court regions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Product & Industry Research
       Conduct in-depth product research to build strong insights and practical knowledge of the golf industry, supporting the adoption of autonomous equipment across the sector.

  • Customer Engagement
       Schedule and conduct frequent visits with key golf-industry contacts during the initial phase, gradually transitioning to a cadence of once every 1–2 weeks.

  • Channel & Market Development
       Support regional sales leadership by introducing key decision-makers and enabling partnerships with distributors, dealers, or direct customers.

  • Flagship Customer Development
       Identify and develop flagship customers in each region, execute demonstration projects, and leverage proven success cases to create a scalable ripple effect.

  • Market Analysis & Strategy
       Conduct comprehensive market analyses to size opportunities, map competitive landscapes, identify user needs and cultural nuances, and translate insights into data-driven market-entry strategies.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
       Act as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams (Sales, Product Management, R&D), closing product gaps and driving continuous improvements to enhance customer success.

  • Events & Field Support
       Partner with Sales and Marketing at trade shows, product demonstrations, and customer visits to deliver a seamless, high-impact customer experience.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, Turfgrass Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in the golf equipment or turf management industry.

  • 5+ years of senior-level sales or business development experience within the golf sector, including equipment, turf management, or technology.

  • Established relationships with key stakeholders such as golf course owners/operators, superintendents, PGA professionals, distributors, and national golf associations.

  • In-depth understanding of golf course maintenance workflows, turf management challenges, and emerging technologies including GPS, robotics, IoT, and autonomous equipment.

  • Proven expertise in solution selling, channel development, and contract negotiation, with strong cultural agility and the ability to build trust in diverse markets.

Preferred Background

  • Former senior executive or industry director in the golf sector, or a highly experienced professional capable of serving as a senior-level industry consultant.

  • Direct access to a qualified network of customers, agents, distributors, dealers, or system integrators across target regions.

  • Demonstrated passion for golf or sports technology, with active playing experience or an official handicap record considered a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel approximately 40% of the time to customer sites, distributors, and industry events within the region.

  • Permanent residency or valid work authorization (e.g. Green Card) in the local region, or willingness to be dispatched overseas with a valid visa.

  • Proficiency in Chinese is preferred.
