Event Recap

Wayrobo is expanding its presence across the European golf market as more facilities explore robotic ball collection as part of their long-term approach to range operations.

Wayrobo’s Growing Presence in Europe

Wayrobo is expanding across Europe, with WayPick 2 already operating at golf facilities in multiple markets including UK, Germany, Italy and more. As labor efficiency and operational consistency become increasingly important, more golf operators are exploring how automation can support routine range work.

For Wayrobo, this growing interest is part of a broader shift in the European market. Robotic ball collection is no longer unfamiliar technology to golf operators. The conversation is increasingly moving toward how it can be applied, what value it can provide, and how it can fit into existing operations.

Portugal Invitational: A Window into the Market

The Portugal Invitational 2026 at The Els Club Vilamoura offered a clear example of this changing environment. During the tournament, Wayrobo worked with local partner Alvorada Tech to operate WayPick 2 on the driving range and collect golf balls throughout the event.

The robot was not simply displayed at the venue. It performed its intended task in an active tournament environment, allowing more golf professionals and industry visitors to see autonomous ball collection in operation.

More importantly, the event reflected the growing acceptance of automation in European golf. Seeing WayPick 2 operate in a professional golf environment showed how robotic ball collection can be integrated into professional range operations.

Growing Interest Is Turning Attention into Action

Following the Portugal Invitational, Wayrobo received increased inquiries and requests for demonstrations from golf facilities across Europe. More operators are actively looking to understand how robotic ball collection could work on their own ranges.

The questions are also becoming more practical: where the technology can be used, how it fits into existing workflows, and what operational value it can deliver.

This reflects a broader shift in the market. Automation is already an established concept in golf operations; what is changing is the willingness of more facilities to test, evaluate, and consider adopting it.

Building a Stronger European Presence

Wayrobo is continuing to expand its presence across Europe through partnerships with local companies such as Alvorada Tech in Portugal. These partnerships help Wayrobo reach more golf facilities, introduce WayPick 2 to local operators, and provide on-site demonstrations and deployment support.

With growing interest in robotic ball collection across the region, Wayrobo is building a broader European partner network to bring its technology to more markets and make it easier for golf facilities to experience and evaluate WayPick 2.

Wayrobo Global Service Network

Beyond market expansion, Wayrobo has established a global service network to support customers over the long term. The network brings together qualified regional partners with the technical capabilities and local expertise needed to provide professional after-sales service.
